— Resume —
Ron started writing screenplays in March 2005 and posting them on the InkTip.
By July 05, he received his first commission to pen a feature script for the established Canadian "Horror" Director/Producer, David DeCoteau, of Rapid Heart Films, after David had read two of Ron’s screenplays, on the InkTip web site.
In December he was commissioned by Simon Foster of Covent Garden Films to write a Sci-Fi Horror feature, again after he read five of Ron’s scripts.
In April 2006, Simon optioned one of Ron’s original scripts, "The Box"
So far Ron has completed eight original, commercially viable screenplays – "Boudicca" – "American Genocide" – "The Box" – "The Scriptwriter" – "Recompense" – "The Jaguar" – "Missing Presumed Dead" and "The 13th Sign".
Four others with writing partners, "The Lifeboat" with novelist John Fiore, "Kane Farm" with producer, Ian Noakes. "Out of Nowhere" and "The Gates of Hell" both with Miriam Paschal.
Ron recently retired from business, where he was known in many industries for his individual creativity, with a business reputation for effective solutions through conceptional management, including taglines, original advertising concepts and magazine articles.
But he says,
"this is more fun. I normally work on five to six projects at a time, all in different stages of development. I find this allows me stay creative".
He adds, "Keeping busy is the secret of keeping busy".
Ron is also a musician, poet and an artist, so creativity seems to be in his blood.
He is sixty years young and growing old disgracefully. He’s got the drive and imagination of people half my age because, according to him, "I don’t keep taking the pills".
My first year as a scriptwriter has brought some early success. Now I am hungry to build on that. I am flexible and happy to amend my screenplays to fit your criteria, after all, the customer is always right.
